Google Docs can now open, edit and comment on .md files without converting them, and Drive renders them as formatted previews. We explain what changed from the 2022 and 2024 features, why Google ties it to AI agents, what formatting is lost, the admin questions it raises and what teams should do this month.
AIxploria listed Google Pics at 04:32 UTC on 14 September 2026 with a 4.5 rating from four votes, a Paid tag and a badge reading “#91 in Image editing”. We tested that badge against the directory’s own category pages, checked 23 items on the card against six Google pages, and measured where the card appears across the site. The AIxploria review describes the product accurately, but it overstates Drive and co-editing, cites a figure Google does not publish, keeps a Beta Access link and a Future Tools tag, and leaves out the admin facts a Workspace customer needs.
