Laravel AI SDK 1.0 Adds Classification and Tool Approvals
Laravel released version 1.0 of its first-party Laravel AI SDK on 23 September 2026. It adds classification as a capability of its own, running on TypeSafe’s Jev models and OpenRouter, with Boolean, Choice and Score questions and a new Str::decide macro. Tools that implement the Approvable contract now pause the agent until a person approves, rejects or edits the call. The SDK speaks the Vercel Chat and AG-UI protocols, runs agent middleware on every step, and adds tool search, provider-side code execution and consistent token reporting. The upgrade from 0.11 has 23 breaking changes, five rated high impact, including a new steps column that needs a backfill migration.
