Maxsa AI is a browser-based creative studio for anime, manga and cartoons, and its appeal is easy to see. One account reaches 22 image models and 27 video models, including names such as Veo 3.1, Kling 3 Pro and Seedance 2.5, with plans from $12 a month and a $5 credit pack for anyone who hates subscriptions.

The fine print is where it gets interesting. Its headline counts assume the cheapest model at 480p, its comic tool cannot add speech bubbles, and its own pages disagree about sound, storage and annual credits. This guide works through all of it using the vendor’s site, terms and privacy policy as they stood on 1 November 2026. We did not buy a plan or generate anything, so read this as a document review rather than a hands-on test of output quality.

What Maxsa AI Is, and What It Is Not

A Studio Built on Other People’s Models

Maxsa AI describes itself as “your AI studio for anime, manga and cartoons”. It sits in a growing category of aggregators: instead of training a flagship model, it puts a focused interface, ready-made styles and one credit balance on top of models from Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba, MiniMax and others.

That design has a real benefit. You can draft on a cheap model and switch to an expensive one without opening a second account. It also has a cost. As the terms of service put it, availability depends partly on third-party services, and the rights in your output depend partly on the licence of whichever model you picked.

Who Runs It

This is the first thing we would raise with the vendor. The domain was registered on 29 August 2025, through a registrar privacy service, and the Internet Archive first captured it about ten days later. We read the about, contact, terms, privacy and refund pages and found no company name, registered address, governing law or named founder. The only contact offered in those pages is [email protected].

That does not make the service untrustworthy, and plenty of young tools launch this way. It does matter to a business buyer, because you cannot easily tell who holds your data or who you would pursue in a dispute. The site links a Crunchbase profile, but Crunchbase blocked our automated request, so we could not check what it says.

What It Sells Itself As Versus What Ships

The about page is unusually candid for this market. It says the studio makes original images, transforms photos and generates short clips, and it says plainly that narration and music are not included. The terms add that “a story plan is not a finished film”. Keep those two lines in mind if a directory listing or an advert suggests finished anime episodes.

What Maxsa AI Can Make Today

Thirteen Tools Under One Login

The Maxsa AI tool list falls into three families: anime, image and video. The table below groups them and sums up what each one takes in and hands back, based on the vendor’s own tool pages.

The Comic Tool’s Biggest Gap

Anyone arriving for manga should read the comic generator page closely. It offers right-to-left reading and a manga style, which is a nice touch. However, the output is one flattened image, “not a layered comic document, separate editable panels or a complete comic book”, and the workflow generates panels without speech bubbles or lettering.

So you will be adding your dialogue in an image editor. That is workable for a four-panel joke and tedious for a chapter. Character consistency is also a live risk, since holding one face steady across frames remains a hard computer vision problem, and the vendor warns it “can vary across panels and generations”. Its advice is to repeat the same outfit and appearance in the prompt, and one model page concedes a repeated description “is guidance, not a locked character identity”.

Agent Mode and What It Costs

The most ambitious feature is the Agent. Give it a brief and it plans shots, quotes a single credit total, then generates and joins them after you approve. Direction costs 8 credits per delivery on top of the model and any assembly charge, and it needs purchased credits, so the free allowance will not cover it.

Maxsa AI also offers a Kids Story tool with age bands of 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. It is aimed at adults making stories for children, not at child users. The vendor calls it “a creative planning aid rather than a certified educational product”, and tells you to review results before sharing them, which is sensible advice for anything shown to a young audience.

Forty-Nine Models, Very Different Specs

The Maxsa AI catalogue listed 22 image models and 27 video models when we checked. That breadth is the main selling point, but the differences between models are large, and the plan pages only quote the cheapest. Here is what the video model catalogue shows for the main options.

On the Image Side

Image options span FLUX, Nano Banana, GPT Image, Seedream, Qwen Image, Ideogram, Grok Imagine and Krea. Most of the featured models can both generate and edit, while a budget model such as FLUX Schnell only works from text. Maxsa AI identifies Nano Banana 2 as Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, with output offered from 0.5K to 4K.

Credit Prices We Could Not Confirm

The public pricing page publishes only base rates, and the exact cost of a premium model appears in the studio before you confirm. One directory, aiwizard, recorded image costs ranging from 2 credits for FLUX Schnell to 80 credits for a Nano Banana variant. We could not confirm that top figure from the vendor’s public pages, so treat it as a guide.

If it is right, the spread is striking. An 80-credit image costs 40 times the base rate, and a 1,500-credit plan would buy just 18 of them rather than the advertised 750. A Maxsa AI budget therefore depends far more on which model you choose than on which plan you buy.

The Plans at a Glance

The pricing page lists three monthly plans and one pack, billed in US dollars with taxes added at checkout. The final column is our own arithmetic, dividing the price by the credits.

OptionPriceCreditsTasks at onceCents per credit
Credit pack$5 once600, valid 12 monthsNot stated0.833
Starter$12 a month1,500 a month10.800
Creator$29 a month3,600 a month20.806
Studio$59 a month7,500 a month40.787

Selectors on the page also show larger allowances: 3,000 credits on Starter, 6,500 on Creator and 18,000 on Studio. Their prices are not in the page’s static text, so we have left them out.

Why the $5 Pack Is the Smart Starting Point

Look at that last column again. Credits cost almost the same at every level, and Creator is actually a touch dearer per credit than Starter. Monthly credits expire at each refresh, while pack credits last 12 months. So a monthly plan only beats the pack if you use nearly the whole allowance every month.

Dividing each price by the pack’s rate gives the usage you need to break even. Starter’s $12 buys 1,440 pack credits, which is 96% of its 1,500. The chart shows the same sum for each plan, plus yearly billing at the advertised 20% saving.

Share of monthly credits you must use to beat the $5 pack (our arithmetic)
Creator, monthly 96.7%
Starter, monthly 96.0%
Studio, monthly 94.4%
Creator, yearly 77.3%
Starter, yearly 76.8%
Studio, yearly 75.5%

Plans do add things the pack may not, such as simultaneous tasks and more cloud storage. If you need those, the sum changes. For a hobbyist testing the waters, though, the pack is the cleaner buy.

Reading the Headline Counts Properly

“Up to 300 short videos” sounds like a lot until you unpack it. Those counts use 12 credits per clip on the basic setting, which means about 4.3 seconds of silent 480p. Images and clips also share a balance, so these are alternatives rather than a combined allowance.

Multiply it out and Starter’s 125 clips come to roughly 9 minutes of footage a month, Creator’s 300 come to 21.5 minutes and Studio’s 625 come to about 45 minutes. A full minute of basic video needs 14 clips, or 168 credits, which is about $1.34 at Starter’s rate.

What Starter’s 1,500 credits buy at base rates (each bar is an alternative)
Basic images at 2 credits 750
Photo to anime at 6 credits 250
Basic clips at 12 credits 125

Free Credits and Refunds

Eligible verified accounts get 50 welcome credits once, valid for 30 days, which is enough for 25 basic images or 4 basic clips. Results from those credits are not saved, so download them within 24 hours.

The refund policy is tight but clear. You can request a refund on a subscription within three days of payment if you have used no more than 50 credits from it. A pack qualifies only if it is entirely unused. Failed generations return their reserved credits automatically, but a new variation after a successful result counts as a new job, even if you dislike the result.

Where the Maxsa AI Pages Disagree

Three Conflicts Worth Checking

Fast-moving tools often have pages that drift apart, and we would not read bad intent into this. Still, three conflicts affect what you are buying, and each one is worth settling with Maxsa AI support, in writing, before paying for a yearly plan.

QuestionOne page saysAnother page says
Is there sound?Terms and about page: short silent clipsModel pages: Veo 3.1 can add ambience, effects or dialogue
Is work saved in the cloud?Terms: private cloud project storage not included unless offeredPricing: 5, 20 or 50 GB, up to 5,000 saved generations
Do yearly plans get full credits?Pricing FAQ: same monthly credits as monthly plansTerms: proportionally lower monthly allowances

The Sound Question

Here is our best reading. The default LongCat model is silent, and so are the basic clips behind the plan counts. Some premium models offer an audio option, and the pricing FAQ confirms audio is included “when a supported model and its audio option are selected”.

The uncertainty is at the story level. The Story to Video page says the Agent delivers a silent video with no voice, music or lip sync, while the pricing page allows audio on supported models and rules out only exact lip sync and separate voiceover editing. If sound matters, test one short clip before committing a large credit quote to a whole story.

The Yearly Credit Question

This one has real money attached. If the pricing FAQ is right, yearly billing is a true 20% discount, with Starter at $115.20 for the year. If the terms are right and allowances fall in proportion, you pay less but get fewer credits, so the cost per credit stays flat. In that case, the yearly bars in our chart do not apply and you have simply prepaid. Screenshot the allowance shown at checkout.

What the Terms Actually Promise

The short answer is that nobody promises you anything. You keep the rights you already hold in your inputs. Beyond that, Maxsa AI says it “does not guarantee that an output is copyrightable, exclusive or free of third-party rights”, and that a subscription “does not automatically clear copyright, trademark, publicity or other permissions”. You are told to check the selected model’s terms before any commercial use.

With 49 models from different makers, that is real homework. A plan’s “watermark-free downloads” line tells you about the file, not about your rights. If you plan to sell merchandise or publish a commercial comic, record which model made each asset and keep a copy of that model’s terms from the day you used it.

Why Anime Is a Sensitive Genre

Rights holders in this area are not passive. In October 2025, Japan’s Content Overseas Distribution Association asked OpenAI to stop using members’ content for machine learning without permission, saying a large portion of Sora 2’s output closely resembled Japanese content. In June 2025, Disney and Universal sued Midjourney in a complaint focused partly on outputs depicting famous characters.

Neither action involves Maxsa AI. Both show where the pressure sits, however, and a reseller of other companies’ models is not insulated from it. Keep your prompts away from named franchises, studios and living artists’ styles, particularly for anything public.

Can You Copyright the Result?

In the United States, probably not on prompts alone. The US Copyright Office’s January 2025 report concluded that prompts by themselves do not give users enough control to make them the author of the output. Human selection, arrangement and modification can still qualify.

That makes the comic tool’s limitation an unexpected advantage. Lettering, editing and arranging pages yourself is human authorship you can point to. UK law treats computer-generated works differently, and the position is under review, so take advice if a commercial project depends on it.

Privacy and Data on Maxsa AI

What Goes Where

The privacy policy is more specific than most at this size. It names Vercel and Supabase for hosting, accounts, credits and private media, Stripe for payments, and Google Analytics for visits. It describes the AI generation providers only in general terms, so the policy alone will not tell you who receives a given upload.

The important sentence concerns those providers. Maxsa AI “does not promise that every provider immediately deletes inputs or never uses them for improvement”. Reference images are passed to the chosen provider and are not kept in the job record, but the provider may retain its own copy under its own policy.

Retention in Practice

Free results expire within 24 hours and are not stored in the cloud library. Paid-account media and records currently have no automatic deletion schedule, so they stay until you ask support to remove them. Saved work remains available after paid access ends. Download links last five minutes, and anyone you share one with can use it until then.

Questions for a Business Buyer

Photo to Cartoon is the obvious risk, because a portrait is personal data. The terms require an adult account holder, and the policy says not to submit children’s personal information. If staff are uploading colleagues’ or customers’ photos, your organisation has a data protection duty to know who receives them. Before approving it for work use, get answers to these:

  • Which legal entity acts as the controller, and where is it established?
  • Which model providers process uploads, and which of them train on inputs?
  • What international transfer safeguards apply to UK or EU data?
  • Can paid media be deleted on a schedule rather than on request?

How It Stacks Up

Two rivals make useful reference points: Anifusion, which is built around comics, and Midjourney, which offers dedicated Niji anime models. Their prices below come from each vendor’s own pages, and the per-credit figures are our arithmetic.

FactorMaxsa AIAnifusionMidjourney

Cost per credit0.80 cents0.45 centsNot credit-based
Speech bubblesNoYesNot a comic tool
Unused creditsMonthly credits expireStated not to expireFast time is monthly
Model choice49 listedSeveral, plus model trainingOwn models only

Credits are not comparable like for like, since each service prices its models differently. Anifusion quotes 5 to 100 credits per image, for example, against the 2-credit base rate here, which works out at 2.25 to 45 cents versus 1.6 cents at the bottom. Run the same prompt on each before drawing conclusions.

Choosing Between Them

For actual manga production, Anifusion’s pricing page describes layouts, speech bubbles, editing tools and character sheets, which addresses the exact gap we found in the comic tool. For the best single anime still, the Midjourney plans include unlimited Relax image generation from Standard at $30 a month, although private Stealth Mode needs Pro or Mega.

Where Maxsa AI stands out is range. It covers images, photo conversion and multi-model video behind one balance, plus a very low cost of entry. We have also covered Makiverse and other tools in our AI models and tools hub if you want a wider field.

Should You Use Maxsa AI?

Who It Suits

It makes the most sense for hobbyists, fan-art makers and social creators who want to try many models without many subscriptions. It also suits creators who need quick storyboards, character explorations or mood clips, where a flattened image or silent shot is good enough. If your work has a planning stage, the storyboard sheets and Agent shot lists look like the most practical parts of the product.

Who Should Wait

Hold off if you need a finished, narrated episode, lettered comic pages, locked character consistency or clear commercial assurances. The same goes for any business that needs a named contracting party before it can sign off a supplier. None of these are hidden, to the vendor’s credit. They just sit in FAQs and terms rather than on the home page.

A Sensible First Test

Use the free 50 credits first, then buy the $5 pack before considering a plan. Try one still prompt on a cheap and a premium model and note the credits quoted. Run one four-panel comic and check whether your character survives from panel to panel. Then make one clip with audio switched on, on a model that offers it, to settle the sound question for yourself.

One caution on public reviews: the site’s menu links a “Review rewards” programme, and the privacy policy describes reviewers checking submitted public links for creator rewards. We could not read the rules behind the login, and Trustpilot blocked our request, so we are not judging any rating. Directory listings mostly repeat vendor copy too, so trust your own test more than any star score.

Maxsa AI FAQs

Temple bell resting on a plinth standing for quick answers to common Maxsa AI questions

Is Maxsa AI free?

Partly. New verified accounts get 50 one-time credits, valid for 30 days, for basic models. That is up to 25 images or 4 short clips. Results are temporary, so download them within 24 hours. After that you need a plan or the $5 pack.

Is Maxsa AI safe to use?

We found clear policies and Stripe checkout, but no named company behind the service. Avoid uploading confidential material or other people’s photos without permission, and remember that third-party model providers may keep copies of what you submit.

Can I use Maxsa AI images commercially?

Possibly, but it is not guaranteed. The terms make commercial use depend on the selected model’s licence, the rights in your inputs and applicable law. Check the model’s own terms first, and keep a record of which model you used.

Does Maxsa AI make videos with sound?

Basic clips are silent. Some supported models, such as Veo 3.1 and Kling 3 Pro, offer an audio option. Lip sync is not included, and the vendor’s pages differ on how sound behaves in assembled Agent stories, so test a short clip first.

Do Maxsa AI credits expire?

Monthly plan credits expire at each monthly refresh and do not roll over. One-time pack credits last 12 months, including after you cancel a plan. Welcome credits last 30 days.

Can it make a full anime episode?

No. Stories are assembled from short generated shots, and narration, soundtrack, multi-scene editing and guaranteed character consistency are excluded by the terms unless a feature explicitly offers them. Expect a short sequence that still needs editing, not a finished episode.
