Any Video Converter is one of the oldest names in desktop video software, and on Wednesday 7 October 2026 it arrived on the AIxploria AI directory as a new entry. The card, published at 07:16 UTC, sums it up as software to “convert, download, edit, and enhance your videos”, with AI tools to generate clips, transcribe speech and “upscale to 4K or 8K”.
The maker, Anvsoft Inc., says it has 23 years of video experience. What is new is the AI layer: an AI video generator, an enhancer, speech-to-text and a vocal splitter, mostly reserved for the top Ultimate edition. That is why a converter now sits in an AI directory.
Below we check the directory card against Anvsoft’s own pages, explain the three editions and what each licence really costs, separate the local tools from the cloud ones, and flag the legal limits of the built-in downloader. We also note what the card’s links reveal about how the listing was set up.

What Any Video Converter Is in 2026
At its core, Any Video Converter turns one video or audio format into another, with more than 1,000 formats listed. Around that core Anvsoft has added downloading, compression, basic editing, screen recording, DVD burning and, more recently, AI tools. It runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and on macOS.
Three editions
The product comes as Any Video Converter Free, Pro and Ultimate. Anvsoft’s FAQ says Ultimate “includes everything in Free and Pro, plus parallel downloads, AI video generation, AI video enhancement, speech to text, AI audio splitting, and access to all current and upcoming AI tools.”
Local by design
Anvsoft stresses that “core video processing runs locally on your PC or Mac”. For large files that is a real advantage over browser converters: a 20 GB recording never leaves your machine. The free edition’s page promises “no watermarks, no file size limits, no daily caps” for conversion.
Where AI fits
The AI tools are what turn a converter into an AI product. Anvsoft lists AI Video Enhancer, AI Video Generator, AI Image Generator, Speech to Text, AI Audio Splitter and Smart Trim. Its free-edition update notes mention “Seedance 2.0 AI Video Generation”, naming the multimodal model behind the generator. The enhancer and upscaler are computer vision tools, while transcription is speech recognition.
How Any Video Converter Grew Into an AI Toolkit
The AI tools did not arrive in a new product. They were added to an existing converter, and the licensing changed with them. That history explains several things the directory card leaves out.
From lifetime licence to subscription
Version 7 of Any Video Converter Ultimate was sold only with a lifetime licence. From version 9.1.0, Anvsoft moved to monthly, yearly and perpetual options, and AI credits arrived with them. The perpetual option survived, which is unusual for software that now bundles cloud AI features.
The AVCLabs sub-brand
Anvsoft also sells separate AI products under the AVCLabs name: Video Enhancer AI, Video Blur AI, Photo Enhancer AI and PhotoPro AI. Its own FAQ says the AVCLabs enhancer has “richer” models than the one built into Any Video Converter, with six specialised features. The card does not distinguish the two.
A wide product menu
The same website sells audio converters, data-recovery tools, mobile data transfer, a location changer and an iPhone passcode unlocker. None of that affects the converter itself, but it shows Anvsoft is a broad consumer-software publisher rather than an AI specialist, which is worth knowing when you weigh its AI claims.
| Edition | Best for | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Any Video Converter Free | Converting, compressing and trimming files | Watermark on AI-enhanced output |
| Pro | Presets, custom downloads, 4K screen recording | No full AI suite |
| Ultimate | Everything, including all AI tools | Generators use credits |
The Any Video Converter Card on AIxploria
The Any Video Converter card is short: a blurb, tags, a badge, four “useful links” and an alternatives strip, with no written review. We downloaded it at 10:33 UTC, about three hours after publication.
| Field | What the card shows |
|---|---|
| Published | 07:16 UTC, 7 Oct 2026 (edited 07:22) |
| Rank badge | #73 in Video Editing |
| Tags | AIxploria Selection, Latest AI, Video Editing, Video Generators |
| Pricing tag | Paid |
| Platform in page data | Web-based |
| Rating | 4.5 out of 5 from 8 votes |
| Upvotes | 54 |
| Useful links | Official Website, AI Video Converter, AI Video Enhancer, AI Video Generator |
A rating that matches its neighbour’s
The 4.5 rating rests on eight votes. The Hotel Lobby AI card, posted by the same AIxploria author 85 minutes earlier, shows exactly the same 4.5 from eight votes. Neither card shows who voted, so both ratings are best treated as unverified.
“Web-based” for a desktop app
The card’s structured data lists the operating system as “Web-based”, while its own blurb says “App available for Windows and Mac”. The blurb is right. Any Video Converter is installed desktop software, and only some AI features call out to online services.
Any Video Converter Card Claims Checked
We split the blurb, tags and page data into ten claims and checked each against Anvsoft’s product pages. Most hold up. The problems are in the details a buyer would act on: which edition has which feature, and whether a free tier exists.
| Claim on the card | What Anvsoft says | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Convert videos | 1,000+ formats, free edition included | Correct |
| Download videos | “Unlimited video downloads” | Correct, with legal limits |
| Edit videos | Trim, crop, merge, subtitles | Correct |
| AI generates clips | Ultimate, uses credits | Incomplete |
| AI transcribes speech | Speech to Text, Ultimate | Incomplete |
| Upscale to 4K or 8K | Same page says “up to 400% and 4K” and “8K” | Inconsistent at source |
| Windows and Mac app | Windows 10/11, macOS 10.15 and later | Correct |
| “Web-based” | Desktop software | Wrong |
| “Paid” | A free edition exists | Incomplete |
| All in one software package | True of Ultimate only | Incomplete |
What the card gets right
The core description is accurate. Any Video Converter does convert, download, edit and enhance video in one installed package, it runs on both Windows and Mac, and the AI generator, transcription and upscaling tools all exist. A reader who follows the card to Anvsoft’s site will find the product it describes.
The “Paid” tag hides the free edition
Anvsoft’s own site leads with Any Video Converter Free, “no watermarks, no file size limits, no daily caps” for conversion. The card’s “Paid” tag is accurate for the AI tools but would put off someone who only needs to convert a file. One of the card’s own links, labelled “AI Video Converter”, even points at the free edition’s page.
Upscaling: 4K or 8K?
The card’s “4K or 8K” mirrors an inconsistency on Anvsoft’s enhancer page. One answer there says the built-in enhancer works “with enhancements up to 400% and 4K”, and that the separate AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI has the richer models. Elsewhere the same page lists 1080p, 4K and 8K output. Test the resolution you need before you rely on it.
Any Video Converter Pricing: Free, Pro and Ultimate
Since version 9.1.0, the paid editions come as monthly, yearly or perpetual licences. Version 7 was sold only as a lifetime licence, and Anvsoft says V7 lifetime holders can upgrade to V9 or later free by contacting support.
| Licence | Pro | Ultimate | AI credits with Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $19.95 | $29.95 | 300 a month |
| Yearly | $39.95 | $59.95 (shown as $69.95 before discount) | 600 a year |
| Perpetual | $49.95 (shown as $79.95) | $69.95 (shown as $89.95) | 700, one time |
| Free edition | $0 for conversion, compression, basic editing and downloads | Evaluation credits | |
Prices are the US-dollar figures on Anvsoft’s Ultimate page on 7 October 2026, which also advertised a site-wide discount. Check the live price at checkout.
The monthly plan is the expensive way in
Over three years, the gap between licences is large. Thirty-six months at $29.95 is $1,078.20. Three yearly licences at $59.95 cost $179.85. The perpetual licence is a single $69.95, little more than two months of the monthly plan ($59.90).
Bars are scaled to the monthly total of $1,078.20, so 179.85 divided by 1,078.20 is 16.7% and 69.95 divided by 1,078.20 is 6.5%. Discounts or price changes during the three years would shift every bar.
When monthly makes sense
The monthly plan’s one advantage is credits. It adds 300 AI credits every month, 10,800 over three years, against 700 once with the perpetual licence. If you will use the AI video generator heavily, compare the cost of buying extra credits. If you mainly convert and enhance, the perpetual licence is far cheaper.
Credits cost about the same in every plan
Each plan bundles roughly ten credits per dollar: 300 divided by $29.95, 600 divided by $59.95 and 700 divided by $69.95 all come to about 10.0. Only the generators use credits. Anvsoft says the enhancer, speech-to-text, audio splitter and Smart Trim do not.
Any Video Converter AI Tools: Local, Cloud and Watermarks
The AI features differ in three ways that matter: whether they need credits, which edition includes them, and whether the free and Pro editions add a watermark. Anvsoft’s pages answer each question, though in different places.
| AI tool | Uses credits? | Where to get it | Anvsoft’s headline claim |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Video Generator | Yes | Ultimate; trial credits elsewhere | 8-second 1080p clip in under a minute |
| AI Image Generator | Yes | Ultimate; trial credits elsewhere | Covers, thumbnails, backgrounds |
| AI Video Enhancer | No | All editions; watermark-free only in Ultimate | Up to 4K, elsewhere 8K |
| Speech to Text | No | Advanced model in Ultimate | “99% accuracy” |
| AI Audio Splitter | No | Ultimate | Separates vocals and instruments |
| Smart Trim | No | Ultimate | Finds scene cuts automatically |
The watermark catch
The free edition’s page says “no watermarks”. That is true for conversion. But Anvsoft’s enhancer FAQ says “the enhanced videos in the Free and Pro versions have watermarks”, and only Ultimate removes them. Anyone testing the enhancer on the free edition should expect a watermark on the result.
Which parts leave your computer
Anvsoft’s privacy policy says “many core features of the software are designed to work locally”, but “some features may rely on online services or cloud-based processing”. Generating video from a prompt with a Seedance model clearly falls in the second group. Treat anything you upload to a generator as leaving your machine.
GPU or CPU
Anvsoft’s recent update notes say the AI Video Enhancer now also runs on the CPU, “so more users can enhance videos even without dedicated GPU acceleration”. Conversion can use GPU acceleration and a new “Auto (Match Source)” option that reuses the original codec to speed things up. Expect AI enhancement on a laptop without a graphics card to be slow, so test a short clip first.
Vendor accuracy claims
The “99% accuracy” figure for speech-to-text and the “under one minute” generation time are Anvsoft’s own claims. We found no independent test. For transcription in particular, accuracy varies with accents, audio quality and jargon, so check a sample of your own recordings.
The Downloader and the Law
“Unlimited video downloads” is one of the free edition’s headline features, and the card lists downloading first among its uses. The software can do it. Whether you may do it is a separate question.
Platform terms
Most video platforms restrict downloading in their terms. YouTube’s terms, for example, do not allow you to download content except where the service offers a download option or you have permission from YouTube and the rights holders. A tool that can download does not grant that permission.
Copyright
Copying someone else’s video without permission can infringe their copyright. Your own uploads, licensed footage and content released under an open licence are the safe cases. For a business, the rule is simple: download only what you own or are licensed to use, and keep the evidence.
Auto-download features
Ultimate adds parallel and automatic downloads of new videos from channels and playlists. Those features make bulk copying easy, which makes the permission question more important, not less. Set a written rule before anyone in your team uses them.
What the Card's Links Reveal
The card’s “useful links” are worth reading closely, because they say something about how the listing was put together.
A campaign code dated 28 September
Three of the four links carry tracking parameters naming AIxploria as the source and the campaign “HSM-20260928-AVC”. The date inside that code is nine days before the card went live. The card does not say whether any payment was involved, and we make no claim that it was.
Two links, two editions
The “Official Website” button redirects to the Ultimate edition’s sales page, while the “AI Video Converter” link opens the free edition’s page. So the same card sends readers to both the most expensive and the free product, without saying which is which.
“AIxploria Selection”
The card also carries the “AIxploria Selection” tag, as does the Hotel Lobby AI card posted the same morning. AIxploria does not explain on the card what earns that tag.
Any Video Converter Against Its Alternatives
The alternatives strip lists AI Video Upscale by CapCut, CapCut, HeyGen AI, InVideo, OpusClip, Pictory AI, TikTok Symphony and VEED. Most are browser-based AI editors or avatar tools, not desktop converters.
How the alternatives rank
On AIxploria’s Video Editing category, HeyGen AI is second, CapCut third, InVideo fourth, VEED sixth, AI Video Upscale by CapCut eleventh and TikTok Symphony twelfth. We checked four of those cards, and each badge matched its position exactly.
The #73 badge
Any Video Converter’s badge says #73 in Video Editing. The category runs to 16 pages, and pages beyond the third are behind a browser challenge that blocks automated reading. So we could not confirm what sits at position 73. The badge system worked for every control we checked.
Not yet in the ranked lists
At 10:33 UTC the name appeared zero times on AIxploria’s Top 100 page and zero times on its Ultimate List, and three times on the Latest AI page. Earlier checks found new cards take at least a week to reach the ranked lists.
The honest comparison
None of the browser editors is a like-for-like rival for local conversion of large files. For that job, free open-source converters also exist. Any Video Converter’s case is breadth: conversion, downloading, editing and AI tools in one installed app. Our look at the Anyvids card shows how differently an AI-first video aggregator is built.
Should You Use Any Video Converter?
For converting and compressing video on your own computer, Any Video Converter Free is a sensible start, and the local processing is a real plus. For the AI tools, the decision is about which licence, and whether the generator’s credits are worth it.
Good fits
People who regularly convert, compress or trim large files; teams that want everything in one installed app; and anyone with an old V7 lifetime licence, which can be upgraded free. The perpetual Ultimate licence is the best value for steady, non-generative use.
Poor fits
Anyone who mainly wants AI video generation, where dedicated generators may suit better; teams that need cloud collaboration; and organisations that cannot police what staff download. For broader AI video options, see our report on the Videoclaw public beta.
For IT teams
Any Video Converter is installed software, so treat it like any other desktop app. It needs approval, install rights and a licence record per user. Its local processing is a plus for data protection, but the generators send content online, so write a short rule on what footage may go into them. Our guide to private AI for UK businesses sets out how to draw that line.
A safe first week
Install the free edition and convert a few real files. Then try the Ultimate trial features on non-sensitive footage, check the enhancer’s actual output resolution, and test speech-to-text on a recording you know well. Only then pick a licence, and choose perpetual unless you need the monthly credits.
Any Video Converter: Frequently Asked Questions
Is Any Video Converter free?
Yes, for conversion, compression, basic editing and downloads: Any Video Converter Free has no watermarks or file size limits for conversion. The AI tools are in the paid Ultimate edition, and enhanced videos from the Free and Pro editions carry a watermark.
How much does Any Video Converter Ultimate cost?
On 7 October 2026 Anvsoft listed $29.95 a month, $59.95 a year or $69.95 for a perpetual licence. Over three years, the perpetual licence costs about 6.5% of the monthly total.
Does Any Video Converter upscale to 8K?
Anvsoft’s pages disagree. One answer says the built-in enhancer works up to 4K, while others list 8K output. The separate AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI advertises up to 8K. Test before you buy.
Does Any Video Converter upload my files?
Core processing runs locally, according to Anvsoft. Some features rely on online or cloud processing, and the AI video generator is one of them. Do not upload confidential footage to the generators.
Is it legal to download videos with it?
Only where the platform’s terms and the rights holder allow it. Downloading your own or licensed content is fine. Downloading other people’s videos without permission can breach platform terms and copyright.
