Feather, Cole Bemis's icon set (https://feathericons.com), after whose drawings
icons of hMailServer's webmail and the eye of its Control Deck are drawn.
Of the 56 symbols of the sprite of the webmail's page,
hmailserver/source/Server/Common/Util/Portal.html, eleven follow a Feather
icon's own drawing, some with their numbers rounded, some moved, resized or
drawn in about the centre: i-gear after "settings", i-pen after "edit-3",
i-print after "printer", i-inbox after "inbox", i-file after "file", i-draft
after "file-text", i-clip after "paperclip", i-signout after "log-in", i-popout
after "external-link", i-bell-off after "bell-off" and i-expand after
"maximize-2". i-close, i-plus and the four chevrons are Feather's "x", "plus"
and chevrons as they are. Others are near Feather's icon of the same subject,
as it is or drawn in about the centre by up to 15 per cent, as i-file is near
Feather's "file": among them i-search, i-star, i-folder, i-trash,
i-warn, i-calendar, i-chat and i-storage.
build/generate-portal-page.py embeds the page in PortalPageData.cpp, which is
compiled into the server on Windows (hMailServer.exe) and Linux, and the server
serves it. The Control Deck's page, hmailserver/installation/WebAdmin/
index.html, which the server serves too, draws its eye after Feather's "eye",
laid into a box of 16 units; its other icons are plain circles and rectangles
with a few straight strokes, figures as simple as those of the sprite below.
No other icon set is credited: what the sprite shares with other sets is
figures too simple to carry anyone's copyright, which protects an author's own
expression and not familiar symbols or designs (in the United States, 37 CFR
202.1(a) names them among the material not subject to copyright). Each symbol
below is such a figure: a familiar symbol - a star, a question mark, a
crescent, a shield - or a figure drawn as sets of line icons on the 24-unit
grid draw it - straight strokes between whole or half units, a circle or a half
circle, a dot, a box with square or rounded corners, a triangle or a polygon of
a few vertices - laid out as its subject asks, so that sets drawn apart from
one another draw it alike, often point for point; an outline drawn of curves,
as a gear's, a pen's, a paperclip's or a bell's is, is not such a figure.
Symbol by symbol, with the icons of the sets compared that it matches point for
point or is near (no farther from it than i-file is from Feather's "file",
0.403 units, in the mean, taken both ways, of the distance from each of the
points taken along one figure's lines at every 0.2 units of the 24-unit grid to
the nearest of the points taken the same way along the other's, with the other
icon as it is or drawn in about the centre by up to 15 per cent, whichever is
nearer; at margins as small as some below, the numbers move with the step and
with the measure, and what is near with them: taken every 0.1 units,
i-reply-all, below among those near none, is 0.408 units from Lucide's
"reply-all" where i-file is 0.402 from Feather's "file", still past the
yardstick, and measured to the nearest point of the other's lines themselves it
is 0.394 where i-file is 0.401, within it):
i-menu, three bars, point for point Tabler's "menu-2", Humbleicons' "bars" and
MingCute's "menu-fill"; i-clock, a circle with two hands, point for point
Tabler's "clock-hour-4", and near Feather's "clock"; i-mail and i-empty, a box
with a V, point for point Tabler's "mail", and near Feather's "mail"; i-junk, a
circle with a slash, point for point Humbleicons' "ban", and near Feather's
"slash" and Lucide's and Tabler's "ban"; i-archive, a lid, a box and a bar,
Tabler's "archive" with a square lid and its box's corners of radius 1 where
Tabler's are 2, and near Lucide's "archive"; i-person, a head over a half
circle, the half circle of Lucide's "user-round" and the head of Iconoir's
"user"; i-mail-open, a box under a roof of two strokes, with a V, near Lucide's
"mail-open", whose roof and V are rounded where its are straight; i-last, a
chevron and a bar, point for point Lucide's "chevron-last" and IconPark's
"go-end"; i-back, an arrow of a stroke and a chevron, point for point Solar's
"arrow-left-line-duotone" and Humbleicons' "arrow-left"; i-search, a circle and
a stroke for a handle, near Majesticons' "search-line" and Lets Icons'
"search", which have its circle and its handle's end, and Feather's "search";
i-send, a paper plane of four vertices and a stroke, its polygon Majesticons'
"send-line"'s vertex for vertex, and near Tabler's "send-2" and Lucide's
"send-horizontal"; i-plane, a paper plane of four vertices, near Tabler's
"location" and Feather's "navigation"; i-refresh, an arc with an arrowhead of
two strokes, its arrowhead Tabler's "reload"'s character for character and its
arc its own, and near Charm's "rotate-clockwise", Meteor Icons' "rotate" and
Lucide's "rotate-cw"; i-help, a question mark in a circle, near Tabler's
"help", Iconoir's "help-circle" and Feather's "help-circle", the mark's curve
its own; i-star, a five-pointed star, a polygon of ten vertices, near
IconPark's "star" and Feather's "star", with numbers of its own; i-shield, a
shield with an exclamation mark, near MingCute's "safe-alert-line", Solar's
"shield-warning-line-duotone", Charm's "shield-warning" and Lucide's
"shield-alert", each drawn otherwise; i-info, a circle with a stroke and a dot,
near TDesign's "info-circle", Iconoir's "info-circle" and Feather's "info";
i-warn, a triangle with a stroke and a dot, near IonIcons' "warning-outline",
Meteor Icons' "triangle-exclamation", Lucide's "triangle-alert" and Feather's

Majesticons' "folder" and Feather's "folder"; i-move, the same box with an
arrow of three strokes, near Myna UI's "folder-plus", MingCute's
"folder-download-line" and Feather's "folder-plus"; i-calendar, a box, a bar
and two pegs, near TDesign's "calendar", Akar Icons' "calendar" and Feather's
"calendar"; i-chat, a speech box of five straight strokes, near Charm's
"message" and Feather's "message-square"; i-trash, a bar, a tapering box of
straight strokes, a handle and two strokes, near Mage's "trash", MingCute's
"delete-2-line", Tabler's "trash" and Feather's "trash-2"; i-storage, two
rounded boxes with a dot each, near Lucide's "stretch-horizontal" and Feather's
"server"; i-keyboard, a rounded box with four dots and a stroke, near
Majesticons' "view-rows-line" and TDesign's "button"; i-more, three dots, near

i-check, a tick of two strokes, near coolicons' "check-big", Lets Icons'
"done-round" and Feather's "check"; i-important, a box of six straight strokes
with a pointed end and a notched one, near Flowbite's
"arrow-right-alt-outline"; i-theme, a crescent, near SVG Spinners' "tadpole"
(MIT, Utkarsh Verma), a spinner's crescent, filled where its is drawn in a
line; and i-tune, two strokes each with a circle on it, i-reply-all, two
chevrons and an arc, i-tasks, two ticks and two strokes, i-label, a pentagon
with a dot, i-people, two heads over two arcs, i-tag, a turned pentagon with a
dot, i-reply and i-forward, a chevron and an arc, and i-flag, a pole with a
notched flag, near no icon of the sets compared. Of the seventeen counted after
Feather's, i-close, i-plus and the four chevrons are drawn alike in many of the
sets compared, and i-expand, i-popout, i-file, i-draft and i-clip are as near
another set's icon or nearer - Myna UI's "maximize-one", whose diagonals
are a unit shorter, Flowbite's "arrow-up-right-from-square-outline" and
Tabler's "external-link", Majesticons' "file-line", IconPark's "prescription",
and Meteor Icons' and Lucide's "paperclip" and Iconoir's "attachment" - while
each keeps the outlines of Feather's icon, i-clip its curves; i-inbox, i-print,
i-signout and i-bell-off are about as near Lucide's icons of the same names as
Feather's, Lucide having begun as a fork of Feather.
The sets compared are Tabler Icons 3.49.0, lucide-static 1.61.0 and 96 of
Iconify's icon sets, Humbleicons 1.29.0 and Iconoir 7.12.1 among them, each
from the npm registry. The drawings were compared with those of
Feather's release 4.29.2, its dist/icons.json, from the npm registry
(feather-icons-4.29.2.tgz, whose sha512 equals the registry's integrity value,
